Little boys that now have little boys of their own, can remember sitting next to their Grandpas and Uncles dreaming of this day that felt like it would never come.
The MLB World Series game 7 started on Wednesday with the series tied up between the Chicago Cubs and the Cleveland Indians at 3-3. History hung in the balance until early Thursday morning after an insane chain of events. A late night 8th inning rally from the Indians during a blown lead by reliever Jon Lester was followed by a rain delay, which led to a Chicago wide “oh sh^% noooooo” grumble. Finally, it was heroics in the 10th inning from World Series MVP Ben Zobrist (RBI double) that led to a dead goat, a peace treaty with Steve Bartman and the best party Wrigleyville has ever seen.
This was just the fifth extra-inning, win or die World Series game. When it’s all said and done, the smoke clears, the champagne drys, and the broken glass is cleaned up; this series and ball game will go down as one of the best in any sport.
It wasn’t just the fans that saluted and showed their congrats. Brands got in on the deal too. Check out the post-game ad from Agency Wieden + Kennedy for Nike.
